The Barcelona-based fast fashion brand is kicking off fall with an opportunity for 100 shoppers to score some free clothes ... provided they show up to the store in their underwear.
Here's how the little "party" works: The first 100 people to show up at Desigual's store in Soho -- wearing only underwear, mind you -- this Thursday will receive a free outfit ("outfit" meaning essentially a top and a bottom) with which to cover their nakedness. If you show up nearly naked and don't have anything to show for it (though, frankly, we'd suggest counting from the first person in line to make sure you're golden before stripping down on a city sidewalk), don't worry: Desigual is still offering 50 percent off everything in the store if you arrive in your underoos and purchase something in the store same-day.
Proving that, in fact, many people are willing to get naked for anything free, more than 400 people are already planning to attend, according to the Facebook event page. Those who already have plans for Thursday morning can rest easy: There's another underwear party next Tuesday at Desigual's Herald Square outpost. Regardless, those intrigued should start planning their easy-to-strip-down ensembles now.
