Sam is a live-action short film scheduled for production this fall. A percentage of our funding will be donated to TransYouth Family Allies. See below or watch the video above for more details!
The Story

After being bullied and beaten at school for dressing like a boy, Sam escapes into the fields surrounding her house. When she can't find her way out, she's forced to spend the night there, slipping into a strange fantasy world where she must confront her identity and choose between who she is and who society thinks she should be.
The Impact

Sam will provide an artistic and unique perspective on gender identity and the people who inhabit our lives. In a world where children and young adults are harassed, bullied, and even murdered for who they are, the film also aims to provide encouragement to young people who are discovering who they are, where their place is, and who they want to be.
About the Director
Sal Bardo is a New York-based writer and director. His short film, Requited, recently made its world premiere as an official selection of the Seattle International Film Festival and will be screening at more festivals in the coming months.

We also plan to give 5% (or 10% if we reach or exceed our funding objective) to TransYouth Family Allies, a non-profit, all-volunteer advocacy group that brings the issues facing gender variant and gender-questioning children and their families into greater public awareness. In addition to helping to fund the film and supporting this valuable organization, you'll also receive the perks listed on the right-hand side of this page.
