Yummie Tummie Fashion Show presented by Rue La La.
The Luncheon was amazing. It was full of women who believe in change and how change can be initiated even by one person. Of course together we can make a difference in this world towards either finding the cure for Cancer and other life threatening diseases. The organization itself with its name says a lot "City of Hope" - to each person it will mean something different but all will agree that hope is alive when people gather in order to fight the inevitable and bring together their faith and love and contribute towards the cause and possibility of saving others. The "Spirit of Life" is another sentiment that celebrates our humanity while we are still here, we can and shall make a difference in this world. Difference begins with just yourself; believe and spread the words and information to other and they will follow and perhaps will involve others who would like to make our world a better health free, pain free world.
Each honoree was presented the Award by someone with understanding of what this award represents and how each honoree has earned in through their countless efforts in helping City of Hope for years and advocating change by contributing anything in their life that brings the researchers closer to the cure. We celebrate people who make a difference for so many others. When each presenter and honoree got a hold of the microphone on the stage; each shared how either they were personally or had someone close to them being effected by either Cancer or another life threatening disease and they did not hold back while letting everyone in the room know how and what they had experienced while going through that. We are human and unfortunately we never know when and what is going to try to strike us down, but we must be optimistic and try to gather all our strength and believe that we are not alone, we eill be supported and loved even during the dire times.
On a lighter note during the luncheon there was a break for about 15 minutes during which the lights went dark and upbeat music started playing and a quick Fashion Show by Yummie Tummie Fashions of Heather Thomson was presented by one of the sponsors Rue La La. It was a great distraction for everyone because slowly the room even though festive was growing heavy from everyone's speeches.
The Spirit of Life Award was presented first to
Heather Thomson by an American Singer and Entertainer
Kelly Rowland, followed by
Kristin Chenoweth whom received the Award from her friend and her Broadway Co-Star of
Promises Promises Sean Hayes and the last but not the least recipient of the Award was
Kathie Lee Gifford who was presented the Spirit of Life Award by
Hoda Kotb who is from 2007–present: is a Co-host of the 4th hour of
Today with
Kathie Lee Gifford.
